Abstract

|
Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a primary hematologic disorder characterized by
ineffective hematopoiesis, peripheral blood cytopenia, and a hypercellular or anarchic
marrow pattern.
A variety of portion of MDS progress to acute leukemia, especially acute myelocytic
leukemia, and in various chromosomal abnormalities have been discovered in from 25 to
88% of patients.
We experienced one case that is myelodysplastic syndrome (refractory anemia with
ringed sideroblasts) preceding acute myelocytic leukemia (M5b) with
chromosomal abnormality(46, XY, 21q+).
